Prayers This Week
Let us pray to God,
who alone makes us dwell in safety:
For the leaders of the nations that they may make wise, just and compassionate decisions.
For our local community of Donnington, Donnington Wood and the Humbers;
for all who work in our local schools, shops and businesses;
for neighbours that we know and for those we have yet to meet; that we may work together to build a community that is welcoming and inclusive.
Remember in your prayers those known to you who are sick; That they may know the healing presence of Christ with them.
For the vulnerable and the fearful, for the gravely ill and the dying; - that they may know your comfort and peace.
Remembering those who have recently died;
may they rest in peace and rise in glory.
For those who are grieving the loss of loved ones;
that they may find strength in God who shares our sorrows.
The Lord’s Prayer
8th-14th May Dementia Friendly Church prayer
Eternal God, we cast all our cares upon You because You care for us. Lord we adore You because You want our burdens to be light. You will not let us face dementia alone, because You are always with us. Father we pray that in this journey we remember that although people may not understand, You do.
15th-21st May Christian Aid prayer
God, gardener of Eden, who flung stars into space and nurtures the tiniest plant, lift our hopes and dreams
above the loss and damage of our suffering planet, that we might share
your long-dreamed vision which values the pea as much as the plant, fill us with your life-giving hope and inspire us with your creative Spirit now, and in the age to come.
