Here’s some ideas which we came up with at PCC to make more of Christmas this year. We’re dreaming ……
of a greener Christmas; use boxes, gift bags, ‘brown paper packages tied up with string,’ rather than shiny paper that can’t be recycled.
of a fairer Christmas; don’t stop at fair-trade chocolate, there’s so much more. Be intentional about where and what you buy - choose gifts from charities and ‘give twice.’
of a sharing Christmas; sign our ‘big Christmas card,’ and make a donation to the Children’s Society . Add something to your shopping list for the CAP hamper.
And how about inviting someone to share a cuppa, or even a meal in the run up to Christmas?
a simpler Christmas; be mindful of that first Christmas, slow down, make time, keep space to notice the little things. Agree a budget for gifts– it really is the thought, not the cost that counts!
